Women who down two or more diet drinks a day ‘at higher risk of having stroke’
They have a 23% higher risk of the killer problem and are 16% more likely to die early, research suggests
Enjoying just two diet drinks a day could put women more at risk of a stroke or heart disease.
Experts who tracked the health of 81,714 females also linked the products to early deaths from any cause.
One doctor said: “Artificially sweetened beverages may not be harmless.”
The women are at a 23% higher risk of a stroke and 16% more likely to die early, research suggests.
Their risk of heart disease was also 29% higher compared to those who drank artificially sweetened drinks less than once a week or not at all.
